What is the difference between First Class and Standard Mail (formerly Bulk Rate) mailing?
First-Class Mail is the best choice for time sensitive mailing. It is generally delivered in 1-5 days nationally and 1-3 days in the Western United States. U.S. Bulk Rate, which is now known as Standard Mail, can be a lower postage rate but with a longer delivery time. You can expect delivery in 10-14 days nationally and 4-8 days in Arizona and the Western United States. Additionally, First Class delivery is consistent throughout the year while Standard Mail can take considerably longer at peak mailing periods such as the holidays.
